2009 Spartans High School Residential Camp

Date

    -Monday-Thursday, June 29-July 2

Check-In and Hours

    -Registration/check-in – June 29, 4:00-5:00pm

      -Camp begins - June 29, 5:00pm

      -Camp ends - July 2, 12:00pm

Campers

    -Grades 9-12, only

Purpose

    -This is an opportunity for players to showcase their skills on the new Spartans Baseball Field

    -This is open to all high school students, including incoming freshmen 

    -Conducting the camp will be The University of Tampa coaching staff, 4-year and Junior College coaches,
     and Major League Baseball scouts

Cost

    -$395

    -$365, commuter  

    -A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for mail-in registrations not paid in full

    -Balance is due by June 22

What to Bring   

    -Enough clothes for eight (8) sessions (cleats, baseball pants, shorts, shoes, socks)

    -Spending money for the camp store (drinks, snacks, apparel)

    -For Residents:

      -Bedding for an extra long twin bed, pillows, and toiletries

Camp Features   

    -Conducted by The University of Tampa baseball coaches

    -Other instructors and evaluators include 4-year and Junior College coaches and professional scouts

    -Personal skills evaluation of hitting, fielding, pitching, and catching

    -Instruction on the mechanics of hitting, fielding, pitching, and catching
    -Mental approach to hitting, fielding, pitching, and catching
    -Situational pitching and hitting instruction
    -Video Analysis
    -Information on the recruiting process

    -Games for evaluation, experience, and learning

    -Question and Answer session with coaches and parents

    -All campers will be provided with lunch and dinner

    -Resident campers will also be provided breakfast
    -Camp tee-shirt
    -Qualified Athletic Trainer on-site at all times
